About the Programs
The Visiting Scholar/Writer in modern or contemporary literature and/or the arts of New Mexico or the Southwest interacts with students enrolled in a joint Oklahoma State University/University of New Mexico summer graduate seminar in Taos.
The scholar or writer also will be expected to deliver a public talk or give a public reading while in Taos and will be invited to do the same at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The honorarium is $5,000. In addition, the Center will cover the expenses associated with the recipient’s Stillwater stay.

The Visiting Artist will be expected to undertake a project, in any medium, that is in some way influenced by and/or reflects the landscape and/or culture of the Southwest. The recipient will interact with students enrolled in Oklahoma State University's Taos class.
The recipient also will be expected to deliver a public talk and/or demonstration while in Taos and to visit Oklahoma State University to share his/her work and conduct a workshop. The honorarium is $5,000. The Center will provide the artist with housing in Taos for two weeks and cover the expenses associated with the recipient’s Stillwater stay.
